my ceiling "warning depressing"

Laying in bed
staring at the ceiling,
same old ceiling
but I can't shake the feeling
That somethings going to happen really bad .

I look at my fan,
And I swear that I can
See its blades chop the way through the end of each day
As I quickly understand
I'm becoming an older man

christmas in retail land

Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the store,
All the customers we scurrying like mice through our door!
The apparel was thrown on the floor without care,
With hopes that an XXXL would be somewhere under there!

With not an object still hung on on its peg,
And kids inthe skateboard aisle breaking their heads!
From the front of the store arose such a chatter,
Bitch mothers up front arguing the the manager!

An ECP here and an ECP there,
Keeps my manager Jerry from pulling out his hair!
From the golf section theres a familiar sight,
Its freakin Josh preaching the quality of anything top flite!

Oh please retail gods please make this end,
So I can get a year of rest before this all starts again!

the search

I’ve lived a thousand lives, and walked a thousand miles;
But I still haven’t made my way back to you.
I want to find you but time isn’t cooperating;
It’s fucking up everything I’ve tried to do
Every time I remember my way I forget it
When I’m exhausted I fall asleep;
The next day the search begins anew

reunited

Roses are red, violets are blue,
This doesn’t rhyme, but I wrote it for you.
There are poets around, you know it too
The one that writes you poems, is a person who
Cares what you do and cares who you are
And keeps you near and worries when you’re far
What happened long on that fateful night,
Should be fodder for stories when he’s holding you tight.

The coffee was espresso the conversation was light
But who thought the outcome could have changed our life.
With no dancing to follow, parting was sweet sorrow,
But a wedding it was that delivered you back to me
So roses are red and violets are blue,
but now I have this beautiful picture of you!

for valentines

Every year millions buy flowers, chocolates, and hearts
But the best gift of all doesn’t fit on a card
You make it yourself and it comes from your soul
And conveying your love is its ultimate goal.

When you are here, in front of my eyes
I always get choked up a little, to no one’s surprise
So I write what I feel in this poem I comprised
Every day since I met you it has increased in size

These Valentines days are of no meaning to me
Because every day I plan on showing my love passionately
We make time for each other as much as we can
Even though eternity doesn’t afford so much as I plan

So I present this to you on Valentine’s Day
A promise to love you forever this way
From my heart to yours in a spiritual bouquet.

Outside

Had I known when venturing out upon the cinder trail this afternoon, that the sun would go down so soon and leave me with this feeling of doom as I seek out the right path to go down.

I see nothing but the moon and I know my feet are on the path by the familiar sound of the ashes crushing down, but where will the path take me. Lord, I put my faith in you to put me in the right direction, be my compass and bring me home.

Will this path take me home I wonder as I stand and shudder because I think I hear the sound of thunder approaching. With no choice but to go on I walk further into the beyond.

As I begin to lose hope, the wind picks up pushing at my back, propelling me to my destiny. The ground begins to slope down, and the walking becomes easier as if the land is rising up to meet my feet. I feel as if the arm of god is around me. I hear the birds in the sky as the sun begins to rise and the end of the path is in front of me.

Waiting for stars to fall

WAITING FOR THE STARS

Sitting here on the side of the road
Listening to the crickets call
Long after nightfall
Waiting for the stars to fall

Time moves slow
The moons yellow glow
when will the heavens start the show
Still waiting for the stars to fall

Waiting here with baited breath
Staring into the sky's immeasurable breadth
Watching for a meteors crashing death
As i sit and wait for the stars to fall

Clouds move in and obscure my sight
And I curse the heavens for my cloudy plight
I guess I'll have to wait for tomorrow night
To see any stars that fall
